Driving down Orsett Road recently in Grays I noticed the land on the corner of Dell Road is being developed for housing.
I’m saddened but not surprised as these days it seems almost any green space or open land is given planning permission by the local councillors who sit on Thurrock council’s planning committee.
I’m not suggesting corruption lays at the heart of the relationship between local government in Thurrock and developers.
I would just pose this question.
How can planning permission be given to build ever more new properties when it clearly doesn’t serve the best interest of the local area due to the already high levels of pollution and the lack of infrastructure?
