A DANCE teacher turned businesswoman has started running a toddler and mum dance group after being inspired by her own children.
Brooke North, 36, from Grays, was inspired to establish Tiny Tappers, when her two daughters Nancie, eight, and Eadie, seven, showed a love of dance at just 18-months-old.
Brooke teaches ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary dance at BB’s Dance Academy, and hosts Tiny Tappers on Saturday mornings in Tilbury.
Brooke said: “I’ve danced since I was three and informality is key to developing expression, so if your child is shy, they can join in the parts of the class they are ready for and opt out when they need do.
“For the independents, sky is the limit and strong showmanship is encouraged.
“For others it may be a case of following everything step-by-step or simply letting free and racing on tip-toes across the hall for the entire class! Most important and paramount to the success is the unspoken permission and encouragement to be yourself. Be the dancer you want to be.”
Brooke says a relaxed approach is key for both children and parents.
