THE body of a man found on a railway line has been confirmed as Firomsa Kedir Habit, 25, of Jessie Street, Bolton.

Emergency services were called to a stretch of track between Bolton and Preston on February 5 after a member of Lostock Station staff reported seeing the body at 6.20am.

The lines were closed for much of that morning while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene, and a police investigation was launched to establish the cause of death.

An inquest into the death of Mr Habit, who is believed to be Somalian, was opened and adjourned at Bolton Coroners Court on Monday.
