BOMB disposal experts were called to a beach for the second time in four days.
Police cordoned off a stretch of Earlhams Beach, Dovercourt, on Sunday afternoon after it was believed a 'unexploded ordnance' had been discovered.
The discovery was made at 3.15pm.
The Colchester Troop from the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Regiment attended the call but it turned out to be a false alarm and was not an explosive device.
It came days after the experts exploded a mortar dating back to the fifties which was discovered by a metal detectorist on the same beach.
