Police have identified a witness in relation to the death of Paul Wallington in Brentwood last year.

Officers continue to appeal to locate a remaining witness in connection with an assault outside The Vine, in High Street, at around 11.50pm on Monday, December 24.

Mr Wallington, 25, from Shenfield, was assaulted outside the bar and died five days later.

Police officers have spoken to dozens of witnesses but need to trace the man pictured, who is described as wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans, and had a distinctive dark-coloured hospital boot on his lower right leg.

A 29 year-old man, from Basildon, believed to be a doorman at the bar, has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and is currently on bail until March 25.

Essex Police appeal to members of the public who witnessed the incident or have information which could be crucial to our investigation, no matter how small, to contact them.
