A MAN has been charged with multiple offences after a woman was assaulted in Grays.
James McAllister, 34, of Stifford Clays Road, Grays, was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, possession of a knife in a public place, and false imprisonment.
It follows an incident in which a woman was reported to have been forced into a silver Mercedes convertible in Long Lane on Wednesday February 6.
McAllister appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday February 9 and was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on March 11.
