Re: article in Gazette dated October 5 headed: 'Pack of foxes causes neighbours distress.' We live very near to Haven Place, I can verify the problems these foxes cause and feel extremely sorry for the people of Haven Place.

For the past five years now we have been plagued with these foxes, we also have tried contacting the council, to be told they can do nothing about it, We have also tried the RSPCA, to be given the same answer - they are protected animals - with the result nothing is done.

Meeantime our garden is ruined, the lawn is covered in large holes. We removed trees and fenced the whole garden completely, six feet high and one hundred feet long, hoping this would act as a deterrent.

Now we have large tunnels the whole length of the garden, and we get the excrement all over the patio and grass.

Our problem lies with our neighbour on the left of us, his garden is completely over grown, it has not been touched for years, we know that there are fox dens within.

Again we have tried getting the council to do something about the garden, they say because it is a private property they can do nothing, despite the fact that this person is elderly.
