I wonder who had the bright idea of carrying out tree maintenance in Bradleigh Avenue at the height of the conker season?
By the end of the day there were hardly any left.
The simple, and free, pleasure of collecting conkers is enjoyed by children and adults alike.
I assume that conkers are no longer PC and are some kind of nuisance.
I was told by the contractors that residents have complained about them dropping. I sincerely hope this is not true.
If it is perhaps these people would like to move to one of the sanitised concrete jungles popping up in Thurrock.
Maybe there nature and the British autumn will not trouble them and they can leave the rest of us to enjoy it, broom in hand!
C. Boyd,
Bradleigh Avenue, Grays.
