A RECYCLING centre will be redeveloped to create a more user friendly and safer experience for residents.
Proposals centring on the Linford Household Waste and Recycling Centre to ensure its continued growth were approved at last week’s Thurrock Council planning committee.
Plans for the site, on Buckingham Hill Road, Linford, comprise of a new carriageway which means cars no longer have to queue along the road, a safer internal access route within the centre as a “one way in, one way out” system for all vehicles and improved disposal areas for users to sort their recycling into the right bin with minimal effort.
There will also be enhanced facilities for staff, the installation of a full drainage system and two new weighbridges to monitor waste brought onto the site.
Cllr Aaron Watkins, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Highways, said: “This multi-million redevelopment demonstrates the ambition we are showing in improving facilities in the borough.
“It is all about enhancing, improving and investing in Linford Household Waste and Recycling Centre by creating a facility that is fit for the future.”
