EASTENDERS actor John Bardon put in a brave appearance at a charity golf day named after him.
The 67-year-old, who has played Jim Branning in the BBC One soap for 11 years, recently suffered a serious stroke but that didn't stop him joining celebrities and local players at Langdon Hills Golf Club for the John Bardon Celebrity Classic.
And the annual tournament proved a big success, raising £4,000 for the Essex Air Ambulance.
It was the first appearance in public for the actor since he suffered the stroke 14 weeks ago and he watched from a wheelchair as players teed off
In the evening he attended a dinner, being introduced to the guests to the swirling tunes of a lone piper.
