A PAIR of Thurrock Council's Civil Enforcement Officers were attacked violently as they attempted to reduce issues with parking and traffic outside a primary school.
It is claimed that the enforcement officers were in the process of issuing a ticket when a member of the public reacted violently.
Parking issues have been long-running outside Purfleet Primary School, with the enforcement officers in place to reduce the issue.
Police were called to the scene yesterday, shortly before 9am, but no arrests have been made.
Both enforcement officers required hospital treatment, and residents have stated one suffered a fractured eye socket.
A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating after reports two civil enforcement officers were assaulted in Purfleet.
“It happened in Tank Hill Road shortly before 8.50am.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“If you have any information about the incident please call us on 101 quoting incident 234 of November 22 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
