THOUSANDS of people turned out across the borough to remember those who gave their lives for us.
There were huge attendances at the various services from south Ockendon to Stanford-le-Hope.
In Grays more than 500 people gathered around the War Memorial and along the High Street to mark the special 100 years Armistice remembrance service.
The service was led by the Rev Darren Barlow and a member of the Grays Town Band sounded the Last Post to signal the two-minute silence.
