A man died after a medical emergency in a busy high street.
Paramedics rushed to High Street, Maldon following reports of a man in a serious condition.
Police were also in attendance for the incident outside HSBC bank, which was later closed.
Traffic continued to build in the high street while the man received treatment.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: "An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer vehicle were called the High Street, Maldon shortly after 10.30am on Thursday November 8, following reports of a man suffering a medical emergency.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, a man died at the scene."
