A review of a traffic regulation order in Lodge Lane, Grays, is taking place.
The review will consider resident requests and feedback in line with legislation, with the safety of the road being priority. It is expected that findings from this review will be reported in the next two weeks.
Following a refresh of the yellow lines in the road several months ago Civil Enforcement Officers have been enforcing a Traffic Regulation Order which has been in place for many years and pre-dated decriminalisation in 2005.
Residents parking behind the yellow lines on crossover drives were advised that the order does not allow for parking in this way and they risked parking fines.
The council wrote to residents before any enforcement action took place outlining parking regulations and giving notice that enforcement of the order would be resuming in the road.
A motion at last week’s full council also called for a review of regulations.
