A pub in Maldon invited the community to celebrated the spookiest night of the year for charity.
The Victoria in Spital Road "went to town" for its first Halloween celebration under its new owners.
Dozens of residents and staff dressed in their most terrifying get ups and supported the pub which raised money for the Essex Air Ambulance, Farleigh Hospice, Poppy Appeal, RNLI and Parkinsons UK.
James Burrell, landlord of the pub, said: "We are a community pub and the event was for the community.
"Looking after all the people who visit the pub including children and the adults who sometimes act like children."
Mr Burrell, who took over the pub in the summer said he hosts events like this every Halloween.
He added: "Halloween brings everyone together.
"We had fun with it but we also wanted to show the pub was there for all."
The pub was decorated fully for the event, inside and out and residents were smiling throughout the night.
The event raised a total of £150 which was divided evenly for each cause.
