LOOKING AHEAD: Concord Rangers and Dover Athletic will be desperate for victory tomorrow to reach the first round of the FA Cup.

With a minimum payday of £25,000 and the chance to draw a professional side in Monday’s draw there is plenty at stake for both teams.

The Beach Boys have navigated two qualifying round matches to reach this stage while Athletic enter the fray now.

Concord have not reached the first round since 2014 and Dover will share fond memories of the 2014/15 campaign. They progressed to round three where they secured a lucrative tie against Crystal Palace.

Athletic play a level above Concord in the National League but there are only 11 places between the two in the pyramid and Concord boast a squad littered with players capable of featuring at that level or higher, making the match more of an even contest than it may appear.

COACH’S VIEW: “Dover are the higher placed club and are favourites,” said Concord first-team coach Darren Beale. “It was a good point for them at the weekend [at Harrogate Town] but the pressure is all on them. We want to cause the upset. We need everyone to be on it and that must be the case for every player if we are to progress.

“It’s nice to be underdogs again. We have been expected to win in the last two rounds and we know our players can win.

“There are a few players in the group that were with Sammy [Moore], Mids [Jack Midson] and I at Leatherhead last season and they know what it means to the club and to the fans.”

TEAM NEWS: Sean Clohessy is pushing for a return to the squad after injury.
