DEAN Brennan praised Billericay Town’s patience and resilience after they ground out a narrow 1-0 win against Gloucester City.
Moses Emmanuel’s first half goal was the difference between the two teams at the AGP Arena.
Gloucester impressed throughout and created numerous opportunities to take something from the clash, with goalkeeper Alan Julian making numerous impressive saves.
And Brennan was full of praise for his team’s display.
“We will have many difficult games this season and this was one of them,” said Brennan. “The first 25 minutes we dominated them but didn’t take the lead.
“They were resilient and played on the front foot and frustrated us. We stopped moving the ball quickly and we had more touches and less passes.
“Teams will try and frustrate us and when we don’t score early we must stay patient which we did.
“I was really pleased and it is great to be top of the league.”
