LOOKING AHEAD: Basildon United go into their FA Cup preliminary round tie with Whitton United looking to maintain their perfect start to the season.
The Bees began the campaign with an FA Cup extra preliminary round win at Stowmarket Town thanks to two goals from Brian Moses.
And the summer signing was on target once again as Marc Harrison’s side beat Mildenhall Town in their first Isthmian League fixture in 27 years last time out.
The Bees will be looking to make it three consecutive wins following promotion.
MANAGER’S VIEW: “We went to watch Whitton in their last league fixture, so we know what their strengths are,” said Harrison.
“It’s all well and good knowing their qualities but we need to get the best out of our players, first and foremost.
“With the ground improvements that have been made and the profile of the club, prize money coming from the FA Cup would benefit us.
“The prize money is not the be-all and end-all but it would be huge for us. There is no pressure and I would just like to see a good performance and hopefully the result will come.”
TEAM NEWS: Darren Phillips is suspended and Charlie Kendall is on holiday.
