Police are appealing for information after two men were robbed in separate incidents in Grays this morning, August 9.

The first victim was approached by a group of five men in an alleyway on London Road, opposite the Ship Inn, at around 5.55am.

He was threatened with a blade and was forced to hand over his belongings, which included a vape, cigarettes and some change.

The second victim was approached by four men in the alleyway between Hedley Avenue and The Chase.

He was robbed of his wallet and phone after being threatened with what has been described as a knife.

One of the men is described as being mixed race with a goatee. He wore a grey tracksuit. It is believed he is a teenager or a young adult, whereas the other four men are described as being black, all wore black tracksuits and are aged in their 20s.

Acting Police Sargent Gray, of Grays CID, said: “Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses to these incidents, or anyone who may have seen a group of men near these areas between 5am and 6am this morning. We are working hard to progress this investigation, but you never know who may hold a crucial piece of evidence.

“I urge anyone with knowledge of these incidents to call Grays CID on 101 and quote incident number 202 of 09/08.
