Two more drivers have been convicted following Essex Police's Christmas anti-drink and drug driving campaign.

Between December 1, 2017 and January 1, 2018 we arrested 148 drivers.

Police are issuing the pictures and details of those who have been convicted to act as a deterrent to anyone else considering drink or drug driving.

Those convicted are:

Iftihar Ahmed, 28, of Wager Street, London:
- Arrested at 12.12am on December 9 in Stifford Clays Road, Orsett;
- Sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, banned for 46 months, ordered to take part in a rehabilitation programme, and told to pay a £115 victim surcharge for drink driving;
- Sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months (to run concurrently) and ordered to take part in a rehabilitation programme for driving while disqualified;
- Driving licence endorsed for driving without insurance.

Matthew Jones, 24, of Grove Road, Rayleigh:
- Arrested at 11.16am on December 26 in Downhall Road, Rayleigh;
- Disqualified for 18 months and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work for drug driving;
- Ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, driving licence endorsed, and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge for drink driving.
