Traffic came to a halt at the QEII bridge today while a Second World War bomb was detonated.
Highways England put out a Tweet today at 3pm informing motorists of why they were made to wait when crossing the bridge over to Kent.
Traffic was held briefly on #QEIIBridge #DartfordCrossing southbound in #Kent due to a controlled detonation of a WWII device taking place nearby. This has now been completed safely and traffic has been released.

After the bomb was safely detonated, motorists were allowed to continue driving.
