Five men have been arrested after police were called to a site in Grays where travellers had set up camp.
Officers were called shortly before 12:30am today to the site on Weston Avenue and arrested four men on suspicion of criminal damage and affray and one man just on suspicion of affray.
The men were aged between 19 and 33 years of age.
They remain in police custody.
There are a number of officers at the sight who are currently overseeing a controlled release of the vehicles.
They will continue to look for criminal activity and anyone identified will be arrested.
This is the second incident in the last couple of days, with travellers setting up camp in the nearby Tesco car park on Saturday.
