A video that shows several men fighting, including hitting each other with belts has gone viral on social media.

The footage, which was captured by sound and lighting company owner Kacy White, has been shared more than 2,000 times and has recorded more than 200,000 views on Facebook.

In the clips, which have been pieced together here, a number of men can be seen punching and pushing each other outside the shopping centre.

It is unknown why the altercation started.

As the fight progresses, two men can be seen hitting other men with their belts.

Mr White, who shot the footage yesterday at about 3pm, said: "A few men were arguing. They started pushing and shoving each other inside lakeside but I didn't capture that on video untill they went outside and it all went off what you saw in video.

"I found it shocking how the security or police did not come immediately to something like this with the heightened security level.

"It puts you off going somewhere like that as the public need to feel safe which I don't think they get from Lakeside at this moment in time."

The police did respond to the incident and while no arrests were made, officers spoke to the men involved.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: "Police were called to reports of an altercation between a group of men at Intu Lakeside around 4pm on June 18.

"Officers spoke to the group, no offences were disclosed and no arrests were made."

Lakeside have confirmed that their security were aware of the incident and that the guards responded appropriately.

A spokeswoman said: "Our security guards responded within a few minutes but the incident was over before they arrived on scene.

“We take incidents of this nature very seriously and we are now in contact with Essex Police who are looking into what happened.

"We would ask members of the public to please contact Essex Police directly if they witnessed the incident and can provide any further information. The number to call is: 101.”
