A BUS company is launching a vintage bus service.

Ensign Bus will be running the service using vintage buses from the 1940’s to the1980’s on Saturday December 3.

The event has taken place for a number of years using vehicles from the companies own extensive heritage fleet as well as borrowed vehicles.

This year for the first time, one of the routes will extend to Ongar. The company has three routes, the X21 which runs from Ongar to Upminster Station via Brentwood, X55 Upminster Station, which travels from Gravesend via Lakeside and X81 from Shenfield Station to Grays via Brentwood and Lakeside.

This event attracts people from up and down the country but Ensign Bus wants to see more families coming for a fun day out and also wants to invite children ride on the type of buses that nan and grandad used to travel on.

These services also serve a number of shopping destinations so people can get a vintage bus ride and get those Christmas presents.

An all network day ticket will be available on the buses from the conductor is priced at £8 for adults, £4 for children and £22 for a family of four.

There will also be other fares available, on the day but the company will not be accepting concessionary bus passes.
