A MAN is seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach and legs in a cabin at a Tilbury pub.
The 52-year-old, from Tilbury, was stabbed in the early hours of Friday morning following the incident at the World’s End pub, in Fort Road.
He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life threatening.
A 36-year-old man from Stratford was subsequently arrested by Port of Tilbury police at the Port just before 6am.
He was initially taken to Grays police station for questioning by Essex Police but is currently in hospital for treatment following medical assessment.
He is due to be further interviewed following his treatment.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between 10pm on Thursday, June 11 and 6am on Friday, June 12 is asked to call Grays CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
