A POLL by Tory peer Lord Ashcroft shows Ukip winning in Thurrock at next month’s General Election.
The research predicts candidate Tim Aker will win 35 percent of the vote, with Labour’s Polly Billington on 31 percent and Tory Jackie Doyle-Price on 30.
A survey carried out from April 17-23 asked 1,000 residents their voting intentions.
A similar poll by the peer in July 2014 had Ukip on 36 percent, Labour 30 and the Conservative’s 28.
With just 12 days to go until the election, the poll has boosted the Ukip campaign.
Mr Aker said: “This latest poll shows yet again that Ukip is on course to make history in Thurrock. If you vote Ukip here, you will get a local Ukip MP here working for the whole community.”
