A woman was given oxygen therapy after breathing in smoke when an outbuilding caught fire in Grays.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Parsonage Road at 11.15pm last night.
They used two hose reels to tackle the fire and prevent it spreading to a neighbouring three-storey block of flats.
The fire was put out by midnight and a high pressure fan was used to clear the building of smoke.
After firefighters administered oxygen therapy, the 57-year-old woman was left in the care of the ambulance service.
A fire serviceĀ investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the incident.
