THE Treacle Mine roundabout in Grays is to be re-surfaced early next month and some of its junctions will be closed during the evening and early hours of the morning.
Work starts on the Lodge Lane and Long Lane junctions on Friday, February 6 at 8pm and the closures are expected to last until 5am on Saturday, February. During this time traffic will not be able to enter these roads from the roundabout.
On Monday, February 9, between the same times, the Elizabeth Road exit and entrance will be closed as will the west-bound entrance on to the A1306, former A13.
Local diversions will be signposted.
Thurrock Council will also carry out deep cleaning of the roundabout’s drainage system in an effort to ease flooding issues there.
Another road closure will be between 10pm on Monday, February 2 and 6am on Tuesday, February 3, at Wharf Road Grays, between London Road and Argent Street. It will be closed to through traffic at these times to allow a detailed railway bridge examination to be carried out.
Alternative routes via Derby Road will be signposted.
And on Sunday, February 1, between half-past-midnight and 6.30am, traffic will be prevented from using the Low Street level crossing in East Tilbury so Network Rail can carry out maintenance.
