THIS week we put our questions to Cheyril Hutchinson - co-owner of Royal Image Hair Studio, in London Road, Grays

Q: What do you love about Thurrock?

A: It has so far been a friendly and welcoming area. We are thrilled about how receptive the clients and people of the community have been towards our business and it makes us look forward to what the future has in store for our business here.

The fact there aren’t any parking restrictions is really beneficial to our business.

Q: What has kept you here?

A: The transformation from our previous borough was a huge decision, but after coming here I’m pleased to say there are no regrets as this is such a lovely area. After seeing how pleased customers are with our services and the fact they’re recommending family and friends, it has motivated us to stay.

Q: How do you see the future for your business in the borough?

A: I see a very bright future for our business here. As a small business, we think great customer service is the key to any successful business and that’s what we as a prestigious salon endeavour to achieve.

Q: How do you think other parts of Essex see Thurrock?

A: From the reviews we received while doing our research when we decided to settle here, other parts of Essex see Thurrock as as wonderful place to live and work, and after experiencing it for ourselves we can see why.

Q: What advice would you give to people wanting to set up their own business in the borough?

A: We would highly recommend them to do so, as the prospects here are endless. You will, without a doubt, receive a warm welcome from the local residents and the local council is helpful in every possible way.

Q: What made you start a business here?

A: We wanted to be a dynamic Afro-carribean and European hair and nail salon offering our services to all genders/ages and felt that this area was ideal.

Q: What involvement with the community does the business have?

A: Our business plays a vital role as we offer our services to each and every one and showno prejudice towards anyone.

Q: What is your favourite part of the Gazette?

A: The fact it is packed with such helpful information, whether it be news, housing or jobs, the list is endless. We look forward to it every week.
