WORK has been completed to restore the windows of a church.
St Michael’s, in Fobbing, raised £15,000 through the Friends of Essex Churches to repair the east window and received a further £16,000 donation from the Veolia North Thames Trust (VNTT) to repair stonework around the south window.
The Grade 1 listed building dates from Anglo Saxon times.
The rector, Father David Rollins, said: “We are privileged to worship in such a beautiful and historic building and we take our responsibility very seriously to maintain this important church.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped us in fundraising, particularly the VNTT, as the south window stonework was in a worse state of repair than first thought.”
