CREWS were called to a car fire at the Lakeside junction of the A13 this evening.
The fire service attended the scene at the junction with the A126, Lakeside at around 8pm with one car reported as being fully alight.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to douse the fire.
Police also attended the fire which was put out by 8.30pm.
The fire came in the middle of a Fire Brigade Union fire strike - that is taking place between 6.30pm and 11pm this evening.
Anyone who wants to report a fire should still call 999.
