PEOPLE struggling with their finances have been urged to join Thurrock branch of Essex Savers Credit Union.
Signing up as a saver gives you access to features including the Budget Management Account, which lets people manage their finances and make regular payments towards bills.
The tool is handy for people who aren’t able to open a bank account elsewhere.
There are two information events about the credit union soon, the first is on Wednesday, January 9 between 9.30am and 1.pm at Thurrock Council’s Civic Offices in Grays, and the second is on Thursday, January 17, between 9.30am and 12pm at Impulse Leisure Centre in Corringham.
Representatives from the council’s rents and housing office teams will be on hand at the events to take any queries from council tenants.
