THE November meeting was tinged with sadness as Pat Spencer, acting chairman, announced the death, the previous day, of our much respected treasurer, who has been a member since 1988.
A minute’s silence was observed followed by a round of applause. She will be greatly missed.
Members are very appreciative of Carol Tinworth taking on the difficult role of treasurer until the AGM.
Carol Schoeman, guest speaker, gave a very interesting account of her experiences as a paramedic, explaining their expanding role.
Pat Spencer, giving the vote of thanks, expressed the thoughts of all members by saying how informative and useful Carol’s talk had been.
The pretty handkerchief competition was won by Diane Biggs.
The Guild’s Christmas social will be held at 7.30pm Wednesday, December 12. The competition is a fairy or star Christmas tree decoration.
