DEVELOPERS planning to build 49 new flats on the former Tilbury Leisure Centre have had their hopes dashed.
Thurrock Council’s planning committee refused GH Land Development’s application for 44 two bed apartments and five one beds in Civic Square at its meeting last night.
Some of the committee felt the development was too high, and the committee voted to reject it.
The news is sure to go down well with residents in the town, who mounted a petition with several hundred signatures against the plans.
