M25 MOTORWAY AND A2 TRUNK ROAD (DARENTH INTERCHANGE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway and A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:
(a) all lanes of the roundabout from its diverge point with the road leading to the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 to its merge point with the road leading from the coast-bound carriageway of the A2;
(b) the road leading from the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 to the roundabout;
(c) the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the A2; and
(d) the dedicated link road connecting roads (b) to (c) described above
at M25 Junction 2 (Darenth Interchange) (A2/A282).
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing, studs and loops replacement, bridge works, carriageway and structural inspections and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 1 day starting on or after Saturday 18th March 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 10:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 16 March 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using other junctions on the M2, A2 and A282, and the A296, A206, and B255. The diversion route will vary according to the direction of travel.
The closures and diversion routes would be
clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are
in operation during the works period.
