20/01350/FULL Land at Town Square, Basildon, Essex. 30 DAY RE-CONSULTATION - Further information received on 14 July 2021 in relation to an Environmental Statement which has already been provided; revised Plans, Design and Access Statement and Planning Statement Addendums, and Viability Appraisal also received. The primary revisions to the design of the proposed development comprise the reduction in height of Tower A by three storeys and Tower D by two storeys, revisions to the podium height of Town Square East, and a reduction in residential unit numbers.
Revised description: Hybrid planning application seeking detailed planning permission for Plot 1 and outline planning permission for Plot 2: Plot 1 (West Wing) comprising detailed planning permission for the full and partial demolition of existing floorspace, erection of new buildings up to 23 storeys to provide 265 residential dwellings (Class C3) and new Class E and Flexible Class E/F1/F2 floorspace, external alterations, along with associated landscaping, amenity space, car and cycle parking, new pedestrian accesses and circulation, plant and storage, and associated works; and Plot 2 (East Wing) comprising outline planning permission (all matters reserved) for the full and partial demolition of existing floorspace, erection of new buildings to provide up to 230 residential dwellings (Class C3) and new Class E floorspace, external alterations, along with associated landscaping, amenity space, car and cycle parking, new pedestrian accesses and circulation, plant and storage, and associated works. The application has the potential, in the opinion of the authority, to affect the setting of the Grade II listed Brooke House, 1-84 Town Square, Basildon; the Grade II listed raised pool and sculpture, Town Square, Basildon; and the Grade II listed retaining walls, ramp, steps, staircases, bench and raised paving, East Square, Basildon.
