AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND SPECIALIST HOUSING SUPPLEMENTARY PLANNING DOCUMENT 2021
Harlow District Council has prepared a draft Affordable Housing and Specialist Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which will be available for public consultation.
The SPD sets out the Council's approach to securing planning obligations in respect of affordable housing and specialist housing for older people, or those people with disabilities, and self-build/custom build housing within new developments across the District. It seeks to aid the effective implementation of the housing policies in the Harlow Local Plan 2020 and assist the Council in achieving the strategic housing objectives set out in the draft Harlow Housing Strategy 2021 to 2025.
A consultation draft of the SPD - which provides background and analysis of the various expectations surrounding affordable housing in Harlow has been produced. Public consultation on the document runs from 20 May 2021 to 30 June 2021.
