ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 50) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 50) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway and the A61 Trunk Road, in the District of Harrogate, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable lighting replacement works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 20 January 2020 for 4 nights or until completed and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A61 single carriageway connecting the eastern and western dumbbell roundabout at Baldersby Interchange, a distance of 215 metres;

(ii) close the A1(M) northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roadsat junction 50 (Baldersby Interchange); and

(iii) close the footway situated adjacent to the carriageway mentioned in (i).

During the road closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 19 January 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
