NOT even an hour long queue has stopped resident’s descending on Orsett Hall today in their hundreds to see and hear first-hand about plans for a new Thames crossing.

The public exhibition, which is open until 7pm tonight (Wednesday), is the first chance for residents to quiz Highways over the controversial plans for a new road linking the M25 near Ockendon with the M2 in Kent.

The exhibition opened at 11am, and saw queues of up to an hour for people to get into the room displaying the plans.

Queues have since died down, but the exhibition is expected to get busier later this evening when people visit after finishing work.
