Tilbury 1-0 Wroxham
From Chadfields
Ryman One North
TILBURY opened their Ryman One North campaign with a fine win against a strong Wroxham team.
A solitary goal was enough for Gary Henty’s side, with Tony Martin getting it after an hour although the match was hanging in the balance for much of the encounter.
It was Wroxham who were looking creative in the early stages, and Matt Waters brought the best out of Dockers loan goalkeeper Clarke Bogard, following the departure of Jack Giddens to Billericay Town.
Dave Hinton was also denied by the impressive Bogard, as he tipped over impressively.
Nathan Stone missed an open goal as Wroxhma pressed and they were made to pay as Martin netted.
Henty’s men had a number of close shaves after taking the lead but held out for a superb win.
Tilbury: Bogard, Mead, Cook, Nightingill, Smith, Aiken, Babalola, Carlile, Cook (Austin), Martin (Edmunds), Smith
