Maldon & Tiptree 1-2 Tilbury

TILBURY made it seven wins from nine as they came from behind to beat Maldon & Tiptree.

The Dockers would have dropped below their opposition had they lost and Gary Henty’s went into the break behind after Tunde Adewunni put the hosts ahead on 31 minutes.

But goals from Emiel Aiken and Neil Richmond in the second half turned the game on its head and continued the Dockers fine recent form.

Tilbury had been comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Dereham Town in the week but started well, although it was a superb goal that opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark.

Adewunni dribbled the ball to the edge of the penalty area and fizzed home a shot at the near post, with ex-Jammer Jack Giddens perhaps unsighted in the away goal.

But Tilbury deservedly leveled through the lively Aiken, after he got in front of the defender to prod home at the near post.

And with 25 minutes left on the clock, the game had swung in Tilbury’s favour after Richmond took down the ball on the edge of the box and lobbed home goalkeeper Darren Behcet.

Tilbury sit 12th after the result.
