Tilbury 2-2 Redbridge
Ryman North
From Chadfields
by Jack Stapleton
Tilbury stretched their unbeaten spell to four games but were disappointed to take only a point at home to struggling Redbridge.
It’s the second 2-2 scoreline in succession for Tilbury against a side undergoing a poor start to the season.
Tilbury started the game slowly and were wasteful in possession giving Redbridge an early foothold. It took the hosts 20 minutes to muster any goalmouth action.
Emiel Aiken’s 30 yard drive flew just over the bar before he finally capitalised on Tilbury’s dominant passage of play. A Ryan Flack corner floated towards Aiken and he deftly back-heeled from six yards to give Tilbury a half-time lead.
Wasted chances at the end of the first half meant Redbridge were never out of the game, and they drew level on 65 minutes through substitute Brian Moses after the home defence failed to clear inside the box.
Just moments later, Redbridge were heading for their first away win of the campaign when Chinedu McKenzie glided through unchallenged to slot past Chico Ramos to edge the visitors in front.
With less than two minutes to go, Tilbury escaped embarrassment when Tom Wood saw his free kick saved - but the ball was only pushed into the path of Sam West who rescued a draw at Chadfields.
Paul Vaughan’s team dropped one place to 14th in the Ryman League North as a result on Saturday but it could have been even worse had they not found their late equaliser.
