Awards for Thurrock players

THURROCK Football Club hosted its presentation evening at the Park Inn, North Stifford, on Saturday when the winning players were: Player of the Year, nominated by manager Hakan Hayrettin, was Greg Lincoln. Hayrettin said: "At the beginning of the season, Greg was injured and it was by no coincidence that his return coincided with our improvements on the pitch."
Players' Player of the Year was awarded to Matt Paine. His solid defending and participation in all but one game this season was recognised by his peers.
Club-man of the Year, voted by the committee, was awarded to captain Lee Flynn. Flynn's leadership on the field and his advice in assisting the younger players, as well as his overall commitment to the club went along way in helping the players settle in this season.
