BROMLEY 2, THURROCK 3: A vastly improved Thurrock produced an excellent performance to move back within four points of the playoff places at Hayes Lane.

The visitors started poorly though and Stevie Ferguson got Bromley off to the perfect start after just three minutes when he smashed a shot past Joe Woolley after only three minutes.

The next ten minutes saw both sides pushing forward but it was Thurrock who scored when Kenny Clark scored his third goal of the season from Lee Flynn’s brilliant corner.

Amazingly this was Clark’s third goal in his last 14 games after taking 122 games to get of the mark for Thurrock.

The visitors then started to get on top and Fola Orinolishe, hit the post from a tight angle after Wes Foderingham got a glove onto the ball.

Thurrock continued to dominate for the rest of the half but failed to create any more clear cut chances as the teams went in level at half time.

Thurrock started the second half brightly and Matt Bodkin’s free kick was well saved by Foderingham. The goal came on 57 minutes after a great move. The impressive Leon Lalite won a tackle in midfield and laid the ball of to Craig Pope.

The full back played a great ball to Bodkin who beat his full back and crossed brilliantly to Dave Bryant who tapped in from six yards.

Thurrock couldn’t hold onto the lead though and the hosts equalised three minutes later.

A Bromley corner went all the way to the back post and Richard Butler smashed past Woolley.

Thurrock were still the better side and regained the lead after 73 minutes.

Lee Flynn’s throw-in was flicked on by both Lalite and Bryant and Leon McKenzie forced the ball home from close range to send the travelling fans wild. Bromley then started to press and Woolley made a fantastic save, Thurrock, however, were still dangerous on the break and Orinolishe, having his best game in weeks, shot just wide after a 40 yard run.

Thurrock professionally saw the game out and Bromley’s Ryan Hall was sent off in the last minute after petulantly throwing the ball at Bodkin after giving away a free kick.
