Fleet boost as Worcester City are beaten

Thurrock gave their Blue Square South promotion bid a massive boost tonight when they beat Worcester City at Ship Lane.

The visitors, struggling close to the bottom, had received a massive boost on Saturday with a home FA Trophy win over Premier side Grays Athletic.

But they were rocked when David Bryant gave Fleet a first minute lead.

Craig Wilding levelled on the 10th minute, but Thurrock claimed all three points with a 2-1 success when Matt Bodkin netted on 55 minutes.

There were varying fortunes for two south-east Essex sides chasing the Ryman One North play-off spots.

East Thurrock United beat Essex rivals Maldon Town 3-1 at home.

But Concord Rangers, despite taking a first-half lead through recent signing Steve King, lost 2-1 at second-placed Thamesmead Town.
