THURROCK prepared for their Ryman North play-off semi-final clash with AFC Hornchurch by securing a 2-0 win over already-relegated Wroxham.

Fleet already knew they would be facing the Urchins for a place in the play-off final, but were aware that a win would result in the semi-final being played at Ship Lane.

Mark Stimson's side collected all three points courtesy of second half goals from Michael Pindy and Jack Barham.

Pindy netted the 63rd minute opener after a good passage of play from Fleet.

Thurrock kept good possession of the ball, before Mark Onyemah took the ball around Yachtsmen goalkeeper Harley Lemmon. But with the angle being tight, Onyemah cleverly pulled the ball back to Pindy, who tapped home.

With Fleet in control, they pushed for a second goal to kill the game off.

And Barham was on hand to double Thurrock's lead with ten minutes remaining.

That result means that Stimson's men will go into Wednesday's play-off semi-final with AFC Hornchurch full of confidence.

Fleet secured a 2-0 win over the Urchins in the Ryman North fixture at Ship Lane in January, but lost by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture in August.
