Thurrock 3-2 Haringey Borough
From Ship Lane
Ryman One North
THURROCK made it four wins from four at home as they came from behind to beat Haringey Borough at Ship Lane.
Jordan Clark, Lewwis Spence and Jason Fontaine scored the goals that preserved Mark Stimson’s team’s perfect record at home, despite a shaky start.
Charlie Stimson had tested away goalkeeper Ashley Harris in the early stages, but soon after Fleet were behind. Shawn Beveney lined up a shot and fired well past Connor Wheatley between the posts for Thurrock.
Having just been denied a penalty, Thurrock were awarded one five minutes before half-time. Spence was brought down in the box and Clark did the rest.
Level at the break, it only took five minutes for Thurrock to edge ahead in the second-half.
Good hold up play from Ross Wall saw him lay the ball to Spence who drilled home emphatically.
But back came Haringey once again.
Danny Ailey got the equaliser and it won’t be one the goalkeeper wants to see again as, despite being partially obscured, the ball flew through his fingers and in.
Jordan Clark hit the crossbar, with Wheatley making a terrific save to keep the score level before Fontaine made his impact.
The striker headed powerfully into the corner with his first touch of the match with 19 minutes to go to restore Thurrock’s lead.
Thurrock: Wheatley, J Clark, L Clark, Duncan (Toner), Sutton, Morgan, Waters (Fontaine), Spence, Stimson (Thompson), Wall, Cowley
