Brightlingsea Regent 3-1 Thurrock
From North Road
Ryman One North
THURROCK can look forward to a Ryman One North play-off semi-final on Wednesday despite losing their final game of the season at Brightlingsea Regent.
Fleet came into the game all but secured of a top five spot due to their superior goal difference, but couldn’t prevent themselves from going down to a hard-working Regent outfit.
Matt Cripps gave the home team the lead midway through the first-half and held out until half-time with the single goal advantage.
But that lead was not to last long and Aaron Waters, so clinical from the penalty spot leveled things up after a foul in the area.
However, a late brace from Jake Gordon meant it was Regent that took the points and ended an impressive season with a win.
For Thurrock it means a trip to second-placed Harlow Town on Wednesday night, as they bid to reach the play-off final.
Thurrock: Warren, R Madden, L Clark, Waters, Sutton, Goode, Christou, Spence, Carvell, R Clark, Stimson
