Cray Wanderers 0-3 Thurrock

Ryman One North

THURROCK returned to form with a comfortable victory over strugglers Cray Wanderers.

Fleet had lost the last three in the league but eased to the three points thanks to a three second half goals, with the opening goal coming from Joel Nouble before a brace from Brad Warner.

The first clear cut chance fell to Lewis Clark but his header crashed back off Darren Behcet’s crossbar, with Ross Wall and Abs Thompson also coming close.

Nouble was denied a penalty with 15 minutes on the clock and, when substitute Warner came on to replace the injured Aaron Waters in the second half the game changed.

Warner saw a shot blocked moments after taking to the pitch, with Nouble dinking over the ‘keeper as the ball dropped to him.

Minutes later it was Warner who got his name on the score sheet, jumping highest to head home Wall’s cross.

The visitors were looking confident every time they went forward and secured the points when Warner added his second midway through the second half.

A poor back pass was seized upon by the striker and he slotted into the empty net.

And manager Mark Stimson said it was a good evening in all departments.

"It was a good performance and result," he said. "It's not often you get both but last night the whole squad played their part in a good 3-0 away win.

"We were in control from the first minute on a very difficult pitch and we got the three points we all wanted."
