Aveley 1, Brimsdown Rovers 3
AVELEY lost their grip on the Essex Thames-side Trophy after a shocking first half performance.
Though John Maskell pulled a goal back with a header just before half time, Millers went into the break 3-1 down.
They had a chance to get back into the quarter-final tie but the South Midlands League side's keeper saved Wayne Vaughan's penalty early in the second half and from then on there was no way back for the holders.
Brimsdown will now play host to Bowers and Pitsea in the semi-final, Bowers having beaten Maldon 2-0 in their quarter-final.
